‘THREE FRIENDS CAME TO LONDON’

TALKWORKS is an independent film project based in Oxford, UK working in partnership with Different Films.
We carry out personal interviews with senior military, diplomatic and political figures promoting multilateral nuclear disarmament, and with the top scientific and global security experts who advise them.
We ask them to explain why they believe nuclear weapons, and the mentality that goes with them, constitute a grave threat to human survival in the world of the 21st century, and must be eliminated.

OUR PURPOSE
— to keep alive the vision of an achievable nuclear weapon-free world, as set forth by President Obama in his Prague speech of April 2009.
— to support the efforts of those dedicating their professional, intellectual and political lives to finding new ways of building lasting peace and global security in the 21st century, without nuclear weapons
— to disseminate their vision and expert knowledge in a form that will engage and inform people across a broad range of political and cultural backgrounds.

We believe film has a special contribution to make in raising public awareness about nuclear threats, and opening minds, hearts and imaginations to the urgent need for change.
